Stress, a psychological condition, can be defined in various ways.
It can be “the non-specific response of the body to any demand for change” as Hans Selye calls it or it can be “a reaction of a particular individual to a stimulus event” as Skinner defines it.
Just like Psychology as a subject itself, the definition of stress has gone through a number of eras and evolution.
Levi (1996) however defines it as “Stress is caused by a multitude of demands (stressors), such as an inadequate fit between what we need and what we are capable of and what our environment offers and what it demands of us”.
After getting a grip of what stress actually is, it still does not tell us enough about its diagnosis.
Here, the categories of stress create an academic chaos as well. It is not easy to categorize stress which makes its diagnosis and treatment a little more difficult.
Plus, with unhealthy amount of media attention and wrong illustration of stress, there is a huge risk of wrong diagnosis.
Here in this article, however, we will be discussing the tablets that can be used to relieve stress.
NOTE: The intention preamble was to focus on the fact that it is important to visit a Psychologist or a Psychiatrist for a diagnosis instead of self-diagnosing yourself and impulsively using the medicines we are going to discuss.
For it can lead you to dangerous health conditions.
Before we start talking about the tablets, let’s quickly get a look on what actually causes stress.
