How to write a sincere and appreciative resignation letter
A sincere and appreciative resignation letter is useful if you are not sure what or how to write your resignation letter but the format can really adjust to any other job role, doesn’t matter if you are a physician, a manager or restaurant supervisor, nursing assistant, scheduling coordinator, computer attendant, personal driver, senior executive, general manager, senior executive, finance manager, just to name a few.
If you are an employee who is interested in leaving on good terms and securing a good reference letter, writing a sincere resignation letter would be important. You may have a few reasons why you would like to submit your resignation letter but remember you are not obliged to and if you decide to include it, you don’t have to give too many details.
In addition, consider giving your employer enough notice so they can find a replacement. Some employers may require 1 month/30 day notice or a minimum of 2-weeks/15-days notice.
Just make sure to keep it professional, brief and polite.

I’m writing this letter to formally announce my resignation from my role at the University of Urbandale. My last day is December 31, 2021.
I’d like to thank you for the all the mentorship and guidance you’ve given me during my time here. I feel like I was really able to grow as a professional and as a person in this position. While it saddens me to go, I’m happy to know that I’ve gained lifelong friends from my role. The team here is really remarkable, and I’m sad to leave such an incredible group of people.
I plan to turn in my university computer, my office key and my speaker before leaving on the 31st. I have already called the financial services office about canceling my purchasing card and am transferring recurring charges to Makenna’s card number.
I plan to come back and visit as much as I can. It truly has been a pleasure working with everyone. Please keep in touch.
Thank you again for the opportunity,
Tiffany”
