Sample resignation letter in word

A sample resignation letter in Word is extremely useful because you can simply download the printable version, modify the information to fit your own personal circumstances, print, sign and deliver.

You may notice how the format is pretty much the same but the reasons to leave differ (i.e. new job opportunity, health reasons, etc.) and a strong resignation letter is not about how long is the letter but being brief (easy to read) and to the point where your employer has the main information about your intention to leave and when.

Doesn’t really matter your career choice, you could be working as kitchen staff, construction worker or a manager at a store, it is normal that you would like to leave in the most professional and polite way possible by writing a good resignation letter.

Make sure your employer knows how thankful you are for the opportunity and give them an appropriate notice period.

For some companies and according to what it is stipulated in the contract the period notice can be 1 month (or more) and the standard or usual minimum amount would be 2 weeks’ notice.

I hope you don’t have any issues in finding a replacement. I’m sure you won’t as you are an excellent supervisor and a wonderful person.

Dear Mr. Francom:

ABC Company has provided me with many wonderful opportunities to learn and grow professionally and personally. It is with difficulty that I submit my resignation from my position as Director of Marketing effective January 15, 2010.

Due to personal circumstances, we have chosen to relocate our family to the New York area which necessitates my leaving a position that I have enjoyed and loved the past 3 years.

I am thankful to ABC Company for the many wonderful opportunities and the great memories I will take with me. I would also like to thank you personally for the support over the years.

If I can be of any assistance during this transition, please do not hesitate to ask.

“Subject: Your Name – Resignation

Dear Mr./Ms. Lastname,

I am writing today to submit my resignation from the evening front desk receptionist position, effective two weeks from today, (insert date). Thank you so much for the time you’ve allowed me to spend with the company.

I’ve learned a lot about the organization and how to work with both customers and the general public. It’s been a pleasure working with you and the rest of the administrative staff.

I have accepted a similar position with another company so that I can work daytime hours. If it would be helpful, I am happy to assist with the transition and train a replacement receptionist through my final day. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Your Name”
