Resignation letter due to unfair treatment (Samples)
In this brief blog post, we will provide examples of a resignation letter due to unfair treatment.
Resignation letter due to unfair treatment
A resignation letter due to unfair treatment is usually written when someone feels they have been mistreated, undermined or disrespected.
In addition, some other reasons could be related to a breach of your contract, breach of trust and confidence, not feeling valued or appreciated, etc.
There are plenty of reasons that can fall under this category, however, even if you have had a bad experience it is recommended to write your letter in the most professional and polite way possible explaining the reasons (or not being too specific) about why you would like to resign.
Here are some samples but you can adapt any of them to your current situation and circumstances.

Mr. Jim Patterson
Marketing Director
Baker Energy Systems Inc.
120 Placement Avenue
New Orleans, LA
Dear Mr. Patterson:
I am writing this letter in order to inform you that I am resigning from my position as a Marketing Consultant at Baker Energy Systems Inc. As per the terms of my contract, I am providing you with a 2-weeks notice of my intention to leave, May 11 will be my last working day.
While I have spent a great 2 years at Baker Energy Systems Inc. and have learnt all that I know from my supervisors, I am afraid that it is impossible for me to continue working here. I have recently been victim of unfair treatment from 2 of my colleagues, and despite the fact that I have officially complained, no measures have been taken against the accused. In fact, the human resources officials haven’t even responded to my complaint, let alone take any action. I feel that I have been wronged not only by my colleagues but also by the authorities.
I have given this company the best of my abilities and knowledge, and have worked very hard to bring it to the height that it is at ight now. It is true that I have learned much in the process as well. However, I believe that it is time for me to move on.
During my notice period, I’ll do my best to hand over my work to anyone whom you choose to replace me. If you need me after the notice period ends, I wouldn’t mind coming in for a few days to wrap things up.
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to work with you. I will always cherish these relationships and wish the company success in all its future endeavours.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Wilson”

Dear Mr./Ms. Manager:
It is with reluctance that I submit this letter. Although my time with (company name) has been, on the whole, satisfying and productive, for quite a while now I have become less and less satisfied with the work situation. The direction of the company, the group in which I work, and the new targets and the methods of accomplishing them have made it increasingly difficult to feel I’m contributing enough.
Therefore, it is with regret that I ask you to accept this letter of resignation from (company name) effective (last day of work).

“I am sorry to inform you that I have decided to resign from my position as a computer programmer in order to seek a more rewarding position elsewhere. This resignation must become effective no later than two weeks from today’s date.
I have concluded that my contributions here are unrewarded and my ideas ignored. I have much to offer and feel frustrated that I am consistently passed over for special projects. It is important for me to work for a company that encourages creativity rather than restricts it. Although your compensation has been fair, you have been unable to provide other types of incentives that I need.
Nevertheless, my time here has not been wasted. I have gained experience and have honed my skills. I have worked with a dedicated group that has earned my respect and admiration. I sincerely wish co-workers well in their future endeavors.
Because you have indicated that my work is excellent, I would appreciate a positive recommendation from you should any prospective employers inquire about my qualifications. If you feel you are unable to satisfy this request, I would sincerely value an opportunity to discuss with you any reservations you may have.”
