There are a number of factors that determine the personality of an individual and with the integration of all these factors, there is a resulting effect on the personality.

Biological Factor

It is one of the most important foundations of one’s personality. Genetics plays a significant role in determining the behaviour as well as the personality of an individual. Children inherited the traits and features of their parents such as intelligence, openness and etc. Genetic factors account for 40-50% of the variation in people.

Social Factor

Social settings and the culture where one is brought up also impact the personality development of an individual. The environment encompasses different levels stretching from one’s own family to culture at large. There are notable differences between individuals belonging to individualistic culture and collectivism.

Psychological Factor

Interest and attitude of an individual shapes the personality of a person. Such factors directly influence the behaviour of an individual and their own personality development. Certain other factors are interest, motives and etc.

Situational Factor
