There is much more to learn from this blog so let’s start with the main definition of mindfulness.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the simple human capacity to be completely aware, mindful of where we are and what we are doing and not too anxious or distracted by what is occurring around us.
Mindfulness is a trait inherently embodied by a human being, it’s not something you have to conjure up, you only have to know how to reach it.
Although mindfulness is inherent, it can be enhanced through validated strategies such as sitting, walking, standing and moving meditation (it is even possible to lay down but mostly contributes to sleep); brief breaks that we integrate into daily life; and mixing meditation practice with certain practices such as yoga or athletics.
What are the Benefits of Mindfulness?
Among its many benefits, a meditation on mindfulness has proven to increase telomerase, the “caps” at the end of our genes, which can in turn reduce cell damage and prolong our lives.
Furthermore, evidence indicates that knowledge bolsters our immune system, helping us to help fend off illnesses, from flu to cancer.
Mindfulness tends to enhance our focus and to minimize ruminative thoughts, which leads to the elevated stress rates that are so common in our culture.
Pain and ruminative thoughts are not just behavioral wellbeing threats because, most frequently, they are the very signs that drive us to pursue the therapist’s support.
Mindfulness is an amazing tool to help people understand, tolerate, and deal healthily with their emotions.
By pausing and choosing how we act, it assists us to alter our usual responses.
We feel our life as we live it, while we are conscious. We consciously perceive the universe through our five senses. We taste the food which we eat.
They consider the feelings that we already have.
We understand how our brains function in doing so, so we are more able to mark the emotions and feelings we have, rather than enabling them to overtake us and control our behavior.
