Mental health art (A guide)

In this brief post, we have compiled a list of mental health art which expresses the way most of us see mental health.

These mental health art should encourage you to relate and understand that there are many other people out there who may also suffer from mental health issues and have used mental health art to express themselves.

Below each mental health art, we will briefly explain what we see.

If you have any other mental health art you want to add to this list then please send in your suggestions.

Mental health art

Mental health art: This  image  shows a character who is either carrying this weight which is much bigger than their body or it is showing so much going on in the characters brain which comparison to the size of their head is so much bigger.

What we get from this drawing is that there is quite a lot of things people with mental health issues go through and more often than not they are carrying more than they can deal with in their heads of thinking about more than they can manage. Sometimes reaching out to your friends who have mental health issues may be the lifesaver they were looking for.

Mental health art: In this mental health art we see a lot of faceless characters who are either looking down, crouched down or looking away. They mostly seem to have their hands behind their backs or on the floor and appear in a state of ponder. In the middle of all of these characters stands a figure with his legs wide apart, his fist clenched and raised to his heart and his head seemingly upright. This character seems very confident and assured whilst the rest look gloom and lost.

It may be that this mental health art is displaying what society looks like today. There may be many of us who cower and fold due to the tough hand life has dealt us and very few who stand tall.

The message to take from this is that we should look to help one another as there may be many amongst us who are going through one issue or the other.

Mental health art: This mental health art picture is hard to dissect. There are two characters, both very similar in looks and both seemingly interchanging with each other. They are both loki into each others eyes with generally the same level of support.

Maybe this mental health art piece is ending us of how much we should support one another.

Mental health art: In this image we see two faces, both are covered with several patterns. Once can look at this as the artist trying to let us know how many people have faces that tell various stories.

Mental health art: In this art piece we see a lady with her body naked, writing all over her chest and arms and a semicolon tattoo on her head which is a sign for solidarity with people suffering from mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, etc.

Mental health art: In this mental health art we see a character whose face has been blocked off with different strokes of black ink. Inreality this is how many people feel after various months of trying to resolve their issues, they usually end up blocking them out and almost ignoring them. They lose their personalities and almost accept that their mental health issues have won the race.

It is very important to continue to seek out help for our friends and family who begin to display a very unusual disinterested attitude.

Mental health art: This mental health art piece is quite straightforward. It displays a head which is shaped almost like a keyhole but has a cloud in it and a man standing there in a jacket, shoes and trousers with his hands in his jacket pockets.

This posture looks like someone who is defeated and has accepted whatever faith befalls them. This is especially true given that he is standing under the rain without an umbrella, seemingly very happy to just let himself be rained on.

Mental health art: similar to the image above, this mental health art piece displays a mans face. He looks upset and seems to be crying over something.  Within the silhouette of his head you see a man who is seemingly running.  We looked hard to find some positives out of this message but there wasn’t any we could see.

Mental health art:In this picture we see a person drinking or holding a phone. On the other side of the picture there seems to be a gaping hole from which hands, tree branches and a faceless birdlike creature are escaping from.

If the man is drinking then this mental health art piece could mean that many people try and drink away their problems.

If it is a phone then it could mean the opposite,it could mean that speaking to people about your issues could potentially make them go away.

Mental health art: This mental health art shows multiple faces depending on how you look at the art piece. The creator may have been trying to highlight how many faces people often have and how hard it may be to see all of their faces.

People could be suffering from depression, anxiety etc but you would never know if you didn’t take a long, hard look at them.

As friends, it is our job to ensure our friends have whatever support they may need.

Mental Health art: This mental health art shows a ladies head. Her silhouette shows that she has no emotion on her face but there is a forearm within her head. It is clenched strongly and this may signify strength and solidarity with anyone suffering from mental health issues.

Mental health art: In this mental health art you see a woman who has a lot of  things coming out of her head. These things look vibrant  as the colours are very bright in contrast to the women’s grey colour. We can only view this as a positive thing.

Mental health art: In this mental  art we see a man who is sitting on a chair with his face in his hands but his fists clenched. He looks visibly stressed and likely angry.

The man is alone, as with many mental health sufferers. Be sure to look out for your friends as they could have many days like this after work., after school etc.

We will have many friends  and family members who may feel like this at the end of the day and this is why we should do more to check upon our friends or family members.
