What are Kalms tablets?

First, it is necessary to understand what Kalms tablets are and their ingredients.

Kalms Tablets are hop strobiles and extracts of Valerian root and Gentian root, which is a traditional herbal medicine treatment for the temporary relief of:

  • Symptoms associated with stress (e.g mild anxiety, worry, irritability)
  • Symptoms related to menopause (e.g flushings, worry, wakefulness, cold sweats)
  • Sleeping problems, promoting natural sleep

In contrast, if you are going to use it for the temporary relief of sleep disturbances, the recommended dose for adults and the elderly is 2 tablets 30 to 60 minutes before bedtime.

  • Extraction solvent: Ethanol 60%v/v
  •  22.5mg of extract (as dry extract) from Gentian root (Gentiana lutea L.) (equivalent to 90mg of Gentian root) 
  • Extraction solvent: Ethanol 50% v/v Each coated tablet contains 247mg sucrose. 

Other ingredients include:

  • Extract: Maltodextrin, Silicon Dioxide 
  • Core: Acacia (Spray-dried), Icing Sugar, Magnesium Stearate, Maize Starch, Silicon Dioxide, Sodium Starch Glycolate, Stearic Acid. 
  • Coating: Acacia (Spray-dried), Calcium Carbonate (Light), Carnauba Wax, Mastercote White SP0950G, Talc, Shellac Varnish, Sucrose, Titanium Dioxide E171, Yellow Beeswax.

Kalms Lavender ingredients

Each soft capsule of this product contains:

  • 80mg of oil from flowering tops of Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia Miller, aetheroleum), which is the active ingredient. 

This product also contains the following ingredients: 

  • Gelatin succinylated, glycerol 85%
  • Refined rapeseed oil
  • Sorbi – tol (E420)
  • Carmine lacquer (E120)
  • Patent blue V aluminium lacquer (E131)
  • Titanium dioxide (E171)

Each pack contains 14, 28 or 56 soft capsules. Not all pack sizes may be marketed.

Kalms Night One-A-Night ingredients

The active substance per tablet is:

  • Dry extract from Valerian root, 385 mg (Valeriana officinalis L.) (equivalent to 1.54-1.93g of Valerian root) Extraction solvent: Ethanol 60% v/v 
  • Excipients: Maltodextrin, Colloidal Anhydrous Silica. 
  • The other ingredients are: Core: Croscarmellose Sodium, Magnesium Stearate, Silicified Microcrystalline Cellulose, Talc and Silicon Dioxide. Coating: Hypromellose, Talc, Titanium Dioxide, Macrogol, Saccharine Sodium.

Kalms Night

The active substance per tablet is:

  • Dry extract from Valerian root, 96 mg (Valeriana officinalis L.) (equivalent to 384 – 480mg of Valerian root) 
  • Extraction solvent: Ethanol 60%v/v Excipients: Maltodextrin, Colloidal Anhydrous Silica. 
  • The other ingredients are: Core: Croscarmellose Sodium, Magnesium Stearate, Silicified Microcrystalline Cellulose, Talc and Silicon Dioxide. Coating: Hypromellose, Talc, Titanium Dioxide, Macrogol, Saccharine Sodium.

Types of Kalms
