When applying for a Tier 2 visa, your cover letter is an opportunity to show your recipient why you qualify. The best format for writing a cover letter is as follows:

  • Address the recipient with a formal salutation. For example, “Dear/Hello (name of the recipient).” If you do not know the recipient’s name, you can refer to them as sir/madam.
  • The next step is to state why you are writing the letter. 
  • Make a brief statement about your personal life. I.e, your status, and work-life among others.
  • List the documents you have attached.
  • Conclude your letter with a forward-looking statement. For example, “Kindly do a favor, and approve my application for an Irish passport. I shall be thankful to you for your kindness.”

I have now secured a job as a trust grade doctor at *** Hospitals NHS Trust. I have been provided Sponsorship and Maintenance by the Trust (Sponsor’s Licence Number: ***, Certificate Number: ***). My sponsor, *** Hospitals NHS Trust, is listed as a fully approved (A-rated) sponsor according to the list published on gov.uk by the Home Office.

I am a fully qualified doctor and am registered with the General Medical Council, UK and have a license to practice medicine in UK.

I was born in ***** on the****** and came back to Pakistan with my family in*****. I have visited United Kingdom frequently – the two recent visits being in *****with my wife on a family visit visa and in May and ****** for my General Medical Council Registration and PLAB 2 exam respectively on a PLAB 2 business visitor visa.

I am going to start work at***** Hospital, Slough as a ***** in General Medicine.

Our parents, who are also doctors shall will be supporting us financially until I get my first pay. 8.      Letter of support (along with copy of passport, house utility bills) of my maternal uncle.

9.      My CV showing details of my education.
