Mrs. Lorie Thatcher

Principal

Marble Heights Public Schools

17 Calypso Avenue

Atkinson, Arizona

Dear Mrs. Lorie Thatcher,

As a veteran elementary science school teacher, my passion for imparting knowledge has been driven by two critical goals: developing each student’s critical thinking and problem-solving skills and inspiring students to become interested in science and take up careers that will make the planet a better place. I have dedicated my six-year teaching career to achieving these goals.

That’s why I’m excited to apply for the position of an elementary science teacher for grade six in your reputable school. I have experience teaching elementary level students from third grade to sixth grade. At my current school, I teach, assess and look after 125 students throughout the term. I have an exceptional understanding of the school district’s teaching philosophy and curriculum as my current employer, Salona Primary School is under the same jurisdiction.

By adopting new collaborative teaching techniques, I increased student engagement by 75% in the last six terms. This resulted in a 35% increase in group project completion and boosted test scores of 90+ students by 35%. I have a certificate in special needs children’s education. My proficiency in developing educational objectives and preparing teaching materials according to your school’s curriculum and philosophy make me an ideal candidate for this position.

In the last 10 years, Marble Heights Public Schools has painstakingly created an impressive record of producing students with the highest state test scores in the core science subjects, including biology. The school’s adoption of innovative technological teaching aides and its vibrant PTA is an embodiment of diversity, excellence, diligent goal setting and prudent resource management. It would be an honor to teach your students and use my extensive qualifications and experience to help the school achieve its educational and social objectives.

I hope to use my in-depth knowledge and experience as an innovative and compassionate teacher to move your school district closer to its academic objectives. Find attached my resume. I would welcome an interview to discuss how to use my skills and expertise to help your school achieve its goals.

Sincerely,

Becky Turner”

“To the Principal, Ms. Mary Smith,

Maryhill Special School,

902 Pine Street,

Smithfield, California 08055.

Dear Ms. Smith,

RE: APPLICATION FOR A SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER’S POST

As an experienced special education teacher, I have developed a passion and personal commitment to helping learners with special needs succeed. I am confident that my background as a tutor for learners with disability is a perfect match for the Special Needs teacher position at Maryhill Special School. I graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education specializing in Special Needs and Languages.

My performance, first class honors for that matter, exhibit my desire and commitment to helping learners with special challenges.

In my most recent teaching position at St George’s Special School, I developed highly effective lesson plans for my students at the Stars Class which comprised learners with challenges. This impacted on me the skills to handle children with conditions such as Autism, ADH, and other conditions. I also developed performance assessment methods that ensured that the track record of learners is highly monitored.

I do not only bring on board the skills mentioned above, but also current and relevant teaching and learning methods. I have gone through various capacity building seminars that have enabled me to help my learners improve their scores. Bearing in mind that Maryhill is well reputable for handling special learners with utmost care, I believe my experience in my former institution has molded me well for the job.

It will be my pleasure to be an asset to the school and see special learners excel. I embrace new challenges and I believe such students can be tutored and fit in to a normal classroom situation. Find attached my resume and copies of certifications. Kindly consider my application.

Yours faithfully,

“April 1, 2012

John Smith, Ph.D. Principal

Notre Dame Academy

610 Maryhill Drive

Green Bay, WI 54303

Dear Dr. John Smith,

“A good teacher is like a candle – it consumes itself to light the way for others” – Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. I strongly consider teachers to be both the guidance and models for student success. Based on my experience at Notre Dame Academy, I am thoroughly convinced students receive the best education possible from teachers.

As an excited candidate, I am writing in regards to the English/Language Arts position available at Notre Dame Academy. I learned about the position from the Notre Dame Academy school website and could not be more excited about the opening. I am a St. Norbert College senior graduating in May with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and a certification in Early Adolescence – Adolescence Education. I believe the school’s mission to

build a well-rounded student spiritually, educationally, and societally is an essential part of a students’ education. I would be a great fit and asset to both your school and faculty, as this job opportunity would accentuate the technological skills, desire, and drive I possess as an educator.

Throughout my extensive experience in the classroom, I’ve strengthened my ability to integrate technology in a positive way, which enhances student learning. For example, at Notre Dame Academy one of my unit plans on informational texts incorporated the use of MacBook Pro computers and the program iWeb, which allowed students to create their own websites. In taking the lead on this project, I collaborated with other teachers and community members to successfully implement this authentic activity. At the end of my placement, when surveyed, students indicated this activity as their favorite because of its integration of their interests and

learning all in one. Another asset I offer is my experience with the International Baccalaureate program. I had the opportunity to observe and help facilitate an 11th grade Theory of Knowledge class where students questioned the basis of knowledge while critically analyzing evidence.

Lastly, as a new teacher I have been trained to use the Common Core Standards as a focal point for my unit plans. In using these standards to build objectives and facilitate student learning, I’ve also helped students reach their goals through differentiation. In my 8th grade placement at West De Pere Middle School, I created a guided reading group unit plan that focused on the different levels of student reading and comprehension. Students were placed in groups that concentrated on leveled reading, learning, and comprehension to ensure each of my students learning needs were met.

My experience with technology, the International Baccalaureate program, and the Common Core Standards with differentiation among other skills and strengths, make me a very qualified candidate for this position. I will be following up with you the week of April 12th to make sure you received all materials needed for this position. Please feel free to contact me with any questions at (715) 292-0485 or heather.koach@snc.edu. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Heather E. Koach”
