Samples of cover letters for EAD application

Having an Employment Authorization Document (Form I-766/EAD) is one way to prove that you are authorized to work in the United States. When writing an EAD cover letter, these are some of the essential things to include in your letter:

  • Include your address and personal contact.
  • Address the recipient with a formal salutation. For example, “Dear/Hello (name of the recipient).”
  • The next step is to state what you are applying for.
  • List the enclosed documents in support of your application for employment authorization.
  • Conclude your letter with a forward-looking statement. For example, “I respectfully request that you approve my application for Employment Authorization. “
