Dear Hiring Manager,

As a graduate of Seaside Secondary School I am delighted to be applying for the open position of School Counselor. I bring with me five years of experience as a youth counselor for the Seaside Youth Club and a passion for helping better the lives of our nation’s children.

In my previous role with Seaside Youth Club I led group counseling programs as well as providing individual support for children. I had the opportunity to work with youth from all different backgrounds and cultures. I also learned about the mental illnesses and learning disabilities that some students face. My experience in this role has turned me into a well-rounded Counselor with a deep understanding of the challenges that today’s youth face.

Throughout my work experience I have proven myself to be an excellent listener, a creative problem solver, and a source of support. My days as a student aren’t so far behind me, so I feel that my students are able to trust and relate to me. I have never been more committed to helping students overcome obstacles. There is no greater reward than seeing someone rise above challenges and conquer their goals.

Thank you for taking the time to review my application. I look forward to speaking with you further about this opportunity. With my previous work experience and passion for this field, I’m confident that I would be an asset to Seaside Secondary.
