Body image refers to the view of one’s own body. It is the concept, thoughts or feelings about an individual’s own physical self.
These concepts, thoughts or feelings could be positive, negative or both. In other words, the individuals might consider their body image negatively, positively or in both ways.
The feelings about one’s physical self are affected by his perceptions and environmental factors.
The body image of an individual, the way how he perceives his physical self, plays a very significant role in the life of that individual.
It affects the individual’s emotional, physical, psychological as well as social health.
There are four aspects of body image. The first one refers to the way one deals with his body, his perceptions about his body and how aware an individual is about his body.

The third component, cognitive bo image, refers to the way an individual thinks about his body, its size, and shape.
Last but not the least, the behaviors affected by one’s body image.

Often people assume that other people are noticing and judging their body appearances. This affect their body image.
Negative thoughts and feelings about body lead to poor body image whereas positive thoughts and feelings result in positive self-image.
