Several researches were carried out that led to the discovery of five big personality traits. In the late 1950s, Earnest Tupes and Raymond Christal proceeded the early model that was based on the work done at the U.S. Air Force Personnel Laboratory. In 1990. J.M. Digman presented his five-factor personality model. In 1993, Goldberg broadened it to the maximum level of organizations. The BIG 5 personality model of personality is available in several languages and applicable in many cultures. This has resulted in research that approves its validity at the international level and also as a theory of personality.
Comprehensive explanations of personality are not covered by these five factors completely. BIG 5 personality does incorporate a huge portion of personality-related terms because of this reason they are called BIG 5 personality. Many related characteristics and traits are included in these five-factor personality traits. For example, agreeableness is a factor that includes traits like kindness, friendliness, and warmth on the positive side and violence and anger on the negative side.
