The five senses viz look, feel, listen, smell and taste, are used for reducing anxiety. In 5 4 3 2 1 grounding exercise, kids are directed to take a deep breath and speak out the names of five things they see around them, speak out the names of four things they can feel, speak out the name of three things they can hear of, speak out the names of two things they can smell and speak out the name of one thing they can taste.

The exercise ends with another deep breath. 

This exercise helps kids to calm down and teaches them how to use their five senses as a source to divert their attention to get rid of anxiety.
